The Jonas Brothers have No. 1 albums, their own Disney TV show, sold-out concerts around the world and shrieking fans in every city.

But it didn’t happen overnight.

In fact, when their current tour rolls into Fresno on Wednesday, it will mark a rise from wannabes to superstars for brothers Kevin, 21, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16.

When they first performed in Fresno, they were a no-name brother band playing at a junior high school.
Then they played at The Big Fresno Fair and later opened for Miley Cyrus at Save Mart Center.

Now they’re back to headline Fresno’s biggest stage.

As they prepped for the tour, all three Jonas Brothers participated in a conference call to talk about their evolution, staying relevant, the staging for their concert and Beatlemania.

Kevin on progressing from small venues to big arenas:

“Moving from small venues to where we are today goes right back to our fans. Without them, we wouldn’t be anywhere. They’re the ones that have stuck around through everything. We can’t believe that they’re still here and continuing to grow and continuing to come see the shows, and it’s an amazing, amazing, amazing thing.”

Nick on the stage set-up for the current tour:

“The tour will be in-the-round. It’s very exciting for us. We’ve always talked about wanting to do a tour like that, and this has been our first opportunity to do it. It’s a way for us to really connect with our fans, something that’s very important and personal to all of us. There are more front row seats now, and there’s more of a real genuine connection with each and every person in the arena.”

Joe on boy bands having a limited shelf-life:

Joe: “What people don’t really understand is that we secretly are over the age of 40, so we’ve already lived through our shelf-life-time, so we’re just going back and trying to reinvent ourselves. In all seriousness, we are just having fun with what we do and playing music.”

Nick on the challenge of meeting fans:

“We’ve been blessed with some really great exposure. Along with that comes more fans and more amazing people that we’re able to experience this journey with. So we’re finding new ways to meet our fans. They mean the world to us, and so we’re looking forward to this summer.

“Also, our friends Honor Society are coming out and you never know who might be in the lobby of the arena in order to meet the fans. So, be looking out for them, too.”

Kevin on his favorite signs that fans brings to concerts:

“We’ve seen some really funny ones. I think I like the ones that say how many miles they drove to come to the concert. Those are always really cool. Or I flew half way around the world or whatever. I’m from Australia.”

Nick on the band’s popularity being compared to Beatlemania:

“I think the Beatles are the Beatles and no one can touch that. We’re honored that some people say that, but for us, we’re just trying to be ourselves and just trying to really be inspired by a lot of things. You know artists like the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Prince and just continue to learn and have fun.”

Kevin on staying relevant in an ever-changing music industry:

“You think about that every day as an artist in this generation. You look back on it, and just 10-15 years ago, Britney Spears and the ‘N Syncs of the world were selling a million records in the first day of their album release and they were selling arenas out.

“We’re on an arena tour, but no one’s selling 10 million records anymore. The Internet has taken a very huge turn in music, but, of course, I think everyone wants to take new steps toward new ideas and new technologies that will allow music to get there, and get out there first.

“We released an album a year the past four years now … Just always continually making new music and continuing to put out music is very key in a world that moves so quickly.”

Nick on the band getting skewered in an episode of “South Park:”

“I think we always like to be open to making fun of ourselves. We’ll be the first to. We did it on ‘SNL’ and it was kind of fun. But I think for us we’re so focused on what we’re doing with this tour and our album and everything that we didn’t have too much time to see it.”

Nick on staying grounded:

“It’s about the family base. We’ve made that rule No. 1 from day one, making sure that the family comes first and that we focus on that. That’s the priority. Also we live by the rule, ‘We live life if it’s at the top like we’re at the bottom,’ which basically means stay humble and keep the right attitude.”

In an exclusive Radio Disney Take Over with “PONYO” co-stars Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas on Monday, July 27, the duo joined “Ernie D” in studio and talked about how they first met, dished tips from their famous family members and shared behind-the-scenes details from their upcoming movie.

Frankie told “Ernie D” that the co-stars, recording duo and friends met a few years ago, saying, “First, a long time ago, we actually became friends on iChat.” Noah added, “Miley and Nick were talking and I walked by…”

Noah, 9, and Frankie, 8, who also recorded the movie’s theme song and music video together, shared some words of wisdom from their successful family members that have helped them in their singing and acting endeavors. Noah told “Ernie D” both her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus and her older sister, Miley Cyrus, have given her pointers, saying, “He also does it on the singing, but he also helps me on the guitar… She taught me to always have fun with it.” Frankie told “Ernie D” his famous older brothers, Joe, Nick and Kevin of the Jonas Brothers, told him to “just go by the lines. Do exactly what they say.”

In talking about how he relates to his older brothers, Frankie also told “Ernie D,” “I have the funniness of Joe, the looks of Nick and then the hands of Kevin because I can play the drums.” He also shared that he is a lot like his 16-year-old brother Nick, saying, “I have a lot of adrenaline and I’m very competitive. If you try and beat me in a video game, I would dominate you.”

Noah and Frankie also shared what they thought was the hardest part in filming “PONYO,” which will be in theaters AUGUST 14th from the Academy AwardÆ-winning director and world-renowned Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki. Noah, who is the voice of Ponyo, said the hardest part for her was staying focused while hearing Japanese in the headphones and pretending to snore: “In the headphones I heard Japanese, so it was hard for me… When I had to snore, it was kind of hard because I started laughing and then I started making pig noises and I couldn’t do it right, so we had to do it a hundred times.” Frankie, who voices the character Sosuke, said the hardest part was “when I had to cry two times.”

Joe still wants to be Kevin's bestman

Although there’s still some time before Kevin Jonas and his fiancée, Danielle Deleasa, head down the aisle, it doesn’t mean the other Jonas Brothers aren’t scrambling to get picked to be the oldest JoBro’s best man.

“I want it,” Joe recently told Kiss108 FM. “I’ll be the best best man ever,” but he added that he, as well as Nick and their little brother Frankie, are “cool” with whomever Kevin decides to be at his side on his big day.

However, Joe did reveal that it doesn’t really matter who gets picked since there’s enough combonations of best-men/grooms to go around. “Eventually if I get married, [the best man is] gonna be Nick, and when it’s Nick, [the best man] gonna be Frankie.”

The Jonas Brothers Meet Care Bears On Fire

Kevin Jonas: Bahamian Wedding?

Wedding plans have started for Kevin Jonas and fiance Danielle Deleasa.

An insider tells Star magazine that the couple have chosen the place where they met — The Bahamas — to exchange their vows.

The source shared, “Kevin has told his family that he and Danielle want to marry in a church in the Bahamas and then hold their reception on a beach. They’re already making some of the arrangements and they’re getting close to choosing a date.”

All four Jonas Brothers stick together as they attend the Industry Screening of Ponyo held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Monday night (July 27).

The youngest JoBro, Frankie voices Sosuke, a five-year-old boy who finds a young goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) with dreams to be human. The animated adventure hits theaters on Friday, August 14th.

Earlier in the day, Kevin stepped out with good friend Maya Kibbel. It was also recently announced that Joe and girlfriend Camilla Belle had gone their separate ways.

Kate Gosselin takes two of her daughters, 8-year-old twins Cara and Mady, to the Jonas Brothers concert at the Wachovia Center on Thursday (July 23) in Philadelphia, Penn.

The Gosselin girls created quite the hullabaloo when they arrived, pulling up in a fancy stretch limo and accompanied by a bodyguard. The twins even brought along a friend, who wore a Jonas t-shirt. How cute!

No film crews were around — they were back “home alone” with the sextuplets at the family’s home in Reading, Penn. (Jon is little busy with his two girlfriends in NYC.)

Kate Gosselin Takes Her Twins Jonas-Watching

Jon Gosselin may be the one being mauled by the "Lovebug," but it's Kate Gosselin's socks that got rocked off tonight.

Kate, officially queen of the world in her 8-year-old daughters' eyes, took twins Cara and Maddy to Thursday's Jonas Brothers show at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

An eyewitness tells E! News the trio and one of the twins' friends rode in a black stretch limo to the concert, which started shortly after 7 p.m.

"They were really happy and excited," the source said of the three little ones, all smiles as they arrived at the arena.

And we presume Kate was pretty happy, too—not only because of the looks on her kids' faces, but because a newly single lady should have the chance to put her hands up, up in the club, because she just broke up and is doing her own little thing.

From Emily & Kim: 'We went to the Jonas Brothers soundcheck on July 25 in Pennsylvania. Joe dressed up as an elephant. He said his name was 'Bernard The Elephant' and he had to talk out of his eyeballs and he noticed halfway through that he had four fingers.

Nick Jonas Says 'It'll Be A While' Before He Heads To College

Nick Jonas isn't planning on resting on his pop-star laurels. The 16-year-old is already looking at what he might do next, now that he has conquered music, TV and movies. So, one day in the distant future, college does seem like the likely next step for this Jonas brother.

He was recently rumored to have been checking out Northwestern University and on Wednesday (June 15) he confirmed to MTV News that he had in fact stopped by the school's Chicago campus. However, he was quick to point out that he's not planning on ditching his band or his current job as heartthrob for academia anytime soon.

"I did go see the college just to go check it out. I've always been interested in going to school in Chicago. I love Chicago," he said. "It's one of my favorite cities. And it was great just to see it. And that's where it's at right now." He added that "it'll be a while before I end up going anyway, because we're obviously very busy — but that's about where we left it off."

Nick, who graduated from high school in June, hadn't yet celebrated the big milestone when MTV News last spoke with him. So had the boys done anything for their little brother since then? "We had an all-around party," Nick said, speaking of the party celebrating his graduation, the brothers' mother's birthday and their album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, topping the charts. "We had a party at the beginning of the tour."

Did Joe Jonas Reference Taylor Swift Onstage In Tulsa?

The Jonas Brothers are about a month into their sold-out world tour and so far it's been more action-packed than they bargained for.

"Me and Joe ran into each other last night onstage," Kevin told MTV News. "And it was pretty awesome. Well, it's funny ... it makes you laugh onstage during the show."

Despite the occasional onstage collision, Joe said the tour has been going great so far. "It's going really well," he said. "We're having a great time."

The one brother who has kept out of everyone's way onstage, Nick, is also enjoying the trek. "I've been safe so far onstage, and had a lot of fun shows," he said. "The fans have been amazing in every city we've gone to and it's just so great to be out on the road."

Some highlights of the tour include Miley Cyrus taking the stage opening night in Dallas, squeezing in a few games of softball on the road and playing "World War 3" off Lines, Vines and Trying Times because, as Joe explains, " the crowd goes crazy." However, it was a reworked version of the song "Much Better" that stirred up the crowd in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The song is rumored to be about Taylor Swift, and one night Joe Jonas changed a lyric from "Now I'm done with superstars" to "Now I'm done with country stars," but the guys don't seem to remember what we we're talking about. "What happens onstage stays onstage," he said.

Hello from somewhere in the United States. I hope your summers are off to a great start! We’ve been very busy with the launch and promotion of our new CD "Lines, Vines and Trying Times", and of course the North American Leg of our world tour. It has been great seeing all of you in the different cities thus far.

In June, I had the honor of being part of the Children's Congress and testifying before a Senate committee on Capitol Hill about diabetes. It is important to let people know how vital it is to get funding for the research we need to find a cure for diabetes. It was also an honor to not only attend but speak on behalf of so many kids with diabetes.

My new TV commercial for Bayer's CONTOUR meter also launched in June. In it I talk about one of my Simple Wins, if you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out right here on the home page.

With it being summer, I hope that many of you are taking advantage of the diabetes camps that are available. Diabetes camps are a great thing and can be very helpful in teaching tips to properly manage your diabetes. Speaking of camp, we are going to be filming Camp Rock 2 in the upcoming months. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Of course there will be some new surprises that I can't tell you about yet.

Tween-tastic! Brad Paisley gets a Jonas endorsement


You know that Brad Paisley character is doing very well with brand-new album American Saturday Night, which debuted at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 album chart.

Among the album’s many fans: Brad’s new buddy Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. (You might recall that Kevin, on a recent trip to Music City, signed Brad up for a Twitter account.)

Kevin Jonas On Engagement: 'It's Going Great'

As millions of girls around the world shed a tear over the news of Kevin Jonas' engagement to longtime girlfriend Danielle Deleasa, Kevin's brothers expressed their excitement about adding a sister to the Jonas family.

"It's going great," Kevin told MTV News about the engagement, as his brothers excitedly gave him a hug. "No date yet — me and Dani are just working everything out and figuring everything out. We're having a good time."

"We're happy for him," Joe added. In a tweet posted by the brothers just hours after the pair's engagement news broke, Joe and Nick wrote, "Congrats big brother ... Dani welcome to the family. We can't wait to have you join us on the road! Love Joe and Nick."

Kevin, being the romantic that he is, showed up to Deleasa's New Jersey doorstep after flying overnight from a show in Toronto. He got down on one knee and asked his girlfriend of two years to marry him with a three-carat solitaire cushion-cut diamond surrounded by 210 round, brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. Kevin designed the ring himself, with help from Jacob the Jeweler.

"She said yes, yes, yes, like 500 times super fast in a row," he recalled. "It was tough performing [the night before], knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world," Kevin said.

"It is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. ... Family is very dear to us, and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our family's celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support," Kevin's parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise, said in a statement.

Jonas Brothers Surprise

Dozens of Jonas Brothers fans were treated to a surprise Monday when the red-hot boy band paid a surprise visit to a charity softball game in northern Virginia.

The Jonas Brothers donned caps and gloves to join the line-up in softball game at the AOL Family Day picnic.

After a rigorous 14 innings the Jonas team walked away victorious.

The Brothers donated their time to promote their favorite causes: Volunteerism, the Special Olympics and diabetes awareness.

Jonas Brothers Go From The Stage To The Softball Diamond

NEWARK, New Jersey — When the Jonas Brothers get some free time, they like to spend it playing softball. So, on Wednesday (July 15), the boys and their team, the Road Dogs, comprised of their road crew and dad Kevin Jonas Sr., decided to play some ball at the Riverfront Stadium just hours before their sold-out concert at the nearby Izod Center.

The boys — Nick plays shortstop, Kevin is right-fielder and Joe is short center — all gathered before the big game to talk to MTV News. Kevin, who was donning a pair of white loafers, swore that he'd change into cleats before the game.

The guys, who played another softball game for charity earlier this week, explained why they chose to name their team the Road Dogs. "We're on the road a lot, and that's what we said about ourselves in the past before we had a softball team," Nick said.

Before they formed a team, their experience on the diamond was limited to, as Joe explained, some games on the Fourth of July. "Pickup games here and there," Kevin added. "Definitely been a part of softball growing up."

So if the guys were professional players, who would they be? Nick chose Derek Jeter, Joe would be Babe Ruth, and the brothers helped Kevin out with his pick. Nick suggested Jorge Posada. "Cool, I'm into that," Kevin said. But it was Joe's suggestion of Manny Ramirez that got a mixed reaction. "Manny, I don't know about Manny," Kevin said. "I think that'd be awesome."

Tiffany Giardina keeps close with childhood friends the Jonas Brothers backstage at the IZOD Center in Rutherford, NJ on Wednesday night (July 15).

The 15-year-old singer posted on her Facebook, saying, “I posted an album of pics from last nights Jonas Brothers show at the IZOD Center! The concert was sooo fun and the boys did an AMAZING job.”

Tiffany also met up with former American Idol champ Jordin Sparks and the soon-to-be Mrs. Kevin Jonas, Danielle Deleasa.

The JoBros Make Jimmy Fallon Paranoid

The Jonas Brothers get ready to perform their new hit song “Paranoid” on The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (July 16) in NYC.

The musical trio — Nick, Joe and Kevin — also made a guest appearance on the show’s segment “Lick it for 10″ (where audience members lick things in exchange for 10 bucks).

One audience member dished to OK mag, saying, “When they pulled the cloak off revealing the boys, the girl turned beet red and was so excited. The guys seemed really nice and they were friendly, even sticking around on the stage during breaks.”

The Jonas Brothers stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night to perform their song, “Paranoid.” Kevin, Nick and Joe also participated in a little game called “Lick It For 10″ where they hid under a cloak while an audience member licked it, not knowing they were underneath.

“When they pulled the cloak off revealing the boys, the girl turned beet red and was so excited,” one audience member tells OK!. “The guys seemed really nice and they were friendly, even sticking around on the stage during breaks.”
